In 2021, rising labor inspection costs and stricter packaging quality standards became common pain points across the food and pharmaceutical sectors. Kerun strategically increased investment in AI machine vision R&D and built a deep learning algorithm team. We developed standardized vision systems targeting four core inspection scenarios: code recognition, heat-seal defect detection, product counting and surface flaw identification.
With self-developed OCR character recognition and defect segmentation deep learning algorithms, we launched two mature complete solutions for strip-pack health product inspection and full surface inspection of bottled beverages, which have been mass deployed in multiple food packaging factories. Meanwhile, we launched overseas market research and visited manufacturing industrial parks in Vietnam and Thailand to investigate local automation upgrading demands of electronic and food production lines. We planned the setup of a Hong Kong office and Thailand technical service stations to seize incremental intelligent manufacturing opportunities in Southeast Asia in advance.
